Kelley Zinge
Kelley received a BFA in Theatre from Stephens College in Columbia MO. As a student of the arts, Kelley was able to study many types of philosophies regarding movement and form, such as Alexander technique, dance, and Pilates. This is where she truly fell in love with not only her theatre craft but the beauty and benefits of Pilates. As a way to subsidize her theatre career, Kelley became a student in the Ballet Austin/University of Nevada Los Vegas Dance Medicine Pilates Instructor program.
Since graduating from that program 8 years ago, Kelley was offered the opportunity to study “corrective” Pilates with Amy Anderson under her “Gentle Fitness” program and has consistently for the past 5 years worked for a physical therapist assisting (after the acute stage) with the rehabilitation of various injuries/surgeries such as: ACL tears, rotator cuff and sacroiliac dysfunction, lateral femoral glides, knee replacements, pelvic floor weakness, bulging discs, sciatica, upper extremity complaints (i.e. frozen shoulder, whiplash etc..) and many more. Plus general conditioning and correction for chronic diseases and conditions such as: Multiple Sclerosis, scoliosis, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, diabetes and those with weakened immune systems due to sustained illness. Pilates is definitely a key to a lot of quality of life issues even in the presence of debilitating diseases!
Kelley caters to each individual according to their needs and personality and assesses progress regularly in an energetic, and thorough manner.
Gerald M. Myers, DC
For those of you who have not heard the unfortunate news, one of our chiropractors, Gerald Myers, went missing on Mt McKinley on May 19th. His lifelong dream was to summit the 20,320-foot peak located in the Denali National Park in Alaska.
Mountaineering was Dr Myers passion. Anybody that knew him realized immediately his zest for life.
His family is discussing different options for a memorial service. We will keep all of our patients up to date on the plans. If anybody would like to do something in his memory we are asking people to donate to one of his favorite charities in his name. His favorite charity was Outward Bound but he also loved Special Olympics and Big Brothers and Big Sister. You can find all the information at www.outwardbound.org, www.bigbrothersbigsisters.org and www.specialolympics.org.
We all realize how much Dr. Myers was loved and will be missed deeply. Please feel free to contact Dr. Friedman or Dr. Garfinkel at our office with any of you concerns. If you would like to share a story about Dr. Myers, or communicate with his family, you may email his girlfriend, Marcia at marciamallow@hotmail.com and/or Anna Gieg (at our office) at annag@arapahoechiropractic.com.
